My specialist areas of teaching and research are picture story books, fantasy and myth, Jungian and Kristevan theory. I have edited five children's books for Random House and two collections of academic essays, on the grotesque and unspeakable. My most recent book is Stuckness in the Fiction of Mervyn Peake, published by Rodopi.  Here is the link to my publications.
I  am also a writer of fiction. My short story, "A Taste Of Venice", has been published by Meanjin. I am currently working on the second volume of a fantasy novel
